Many journals are quite restrictive when it comes to the distribution of the articles they publish. Nevertheless, different standards seem to apply when it comes to illustrations by other authors. This was also the case with a graphic abstract of mine, which was quickly reproduced by the Journal of Hepatology. Shown the left is the original artwork, on the right the imitation by J HEPATOL.
