In the past, applications for third-party funding and grants tended to be pure text. If they contained any illustrations at all, they were often only those from the applicant's scientific publications. Nowadays, however, applications are expected to be fully branded with a logo, slogan, illustrations and layout. Here are two examples of such application logos.
For a DFG proposal by Prof. Dr. Christoph Schramm (UKE, Hamburg), the liver was to be dynamically linked with an arrow as the site of an immunological transformation. For a DFG application by Prof. Dr. Immo Prinz (ZMNH/ Center for Molecular Neurobiology, Hamburg), the logo was to express the special nature of the gamma delta T cell.
